This is the privacy policy for the Android applications published on Google Play by Schmitztech LLC (“we”, “us”):
Together these are referred to below as “the apps”. This policy does not cover the schmitztech.com website, which is a static site with no accounts, forms, or analytics.
The apps collect nothing about you. We run no servers and receive no data from the apps, so there is nothing for us to store, share, or sell. The one thing an app sends over the network is a request for public tide data, as described below.
The apps do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal or sensitive user data. In particular, they do not collect:
Anything you enter into an app, along with its settings, is stored locally on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling an app deletes it. We keep no copy and have no way to recover it.
If you back up your device, Android’s own backup service may include app data in that backup, under Google’s Privacy Policy. That is a function of your device, not of the apps.
To show tide predictions, WA Tides requests published tide data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The request names the tide station you are viewing. It carries no account, no identifier, and nothing personal about you.
As with any request your device makes over the internet, NOAA can see the IP address it came from; this is inherent to how the internet works and is not something we collect or receive. NOAA handles that data under its own privacy policy.
The apps contain no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, crash reporters, or tracking SDKs. No data is sold or shared with third parties, because none is collected.
Each app requests only the permissions listed on its own Google Play store page. Permissions are used solely to provide the feature they belong to, and never to collect, profile, or transmit data about you.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above.
